Amy visited last night the Jimmy Kimmel talk show as part of the Vice promotion gig. Alongside all things to say about the movie, she entertained us with a funny story about her being “the first woman in history to reject a hug from Brad Pitt”.
Pitt’s production company Plan B was a producer on Vice, along with Adam McKay, the film’s writer and director, and his Gary Sanchez Productions partners Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick. Kimmel wanted to know if he did any actual producing on the film and Adams assured him that Pitt did. “He came to the set one day,” she explained, noting that before she knew the actor turned producer was set, all the women had put on lip gloss and were “skipping”. All the women, save for Adams, of course. Pitt’s visit coincided with a day that she was playing an older Lynne Cheney, complete with “70-year old Lynne makeup” and a suit that made her look “quite a bit heavier.” To top it all off, Adams had just been diagnosed with pink eye. That’s when she found out Pitt was on set.
The trailer for Vice, Adam McKay’s (The Big Short) biopic about Dick Cheney, has been released.
McKay has written and directed the movie, which stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Steve Carell and Sam Rockwell. Take a look at the trailer below:
Vice explores the story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.
Last June 28 Amy also attended in New York a screening & conversation for Sharp Objects. She was joined by executive producer Marti Noxon, actors Eliza Scanlen, Patricia Clarkson, Elizabeth Perkins, Chris Messina and director Jean-Marc Vallee.
HBO’s Amy Adams-starring miniseries Sharp Objects is set to be released this July and last night, during the premiere of WestWorld second season, a teaser trailer has been released.
Based on the novel by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, Sharp Objects stars Adams as Camille Preaker, a reporter who returns to her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri to investigate a gruesome double murder. But she’s fresh out of a mental hospital herself, and her half-sister Amma seems to think Camille might be having visions of the undead. As the local police chief warns Camille’s mother about her daughters, “one of them is dangerous, and the other one’s in danger.”
The supporting cast is stacked, with Six Feet Under‘s Patricia Clarkson as Camille’s mom and Mindy Project alum Chris Messina as a local detective. Plus, Big Little Lies fans, take note: Director Jean-Marc Vallée, who won an Emmy for helming BLL, is behind the camera here.
